Peer Review Process

Journal of Primary Education Research and Practice (e-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX, p-ISSN: XXXX-XXXX) implements an Open Peer Review process to enhance transparency and trust in scientific publications. The following principles guide this process:

1. Transparent Reviewer Identity:
The identity of the reviewer is disclosed to the author, promoting accountability and constructive feedback.

2. Publicly Accessible Reviews:
Review reports are openly published alongside the accepted article, allowing readers to see the peer review process and understand the strengths and weaknesses identified by the reviewers.

3. Interactive Review:
Authors and reviewers may engage in open dialogue during the review process, encouraging collaboration and improving the quality of the manuscript.

4. Reviewer Recognition:
Reviewers have the option to sign their reviews and receive recognition for their contributions to the peer review process.

5. Ethical Standards:
All participants are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines, ensuring the review process is conducted fairly, respectfully, and free from bias.

The Open Peer Review model aims to improve transparency, accountability, and the overall quality of the review process, benefiting authors, reviewers, and the wider academic community. The key features of the Open Peer Review Model for all research articles published in this journal are described below:

The reviewer’s name is disclosed to the author, encouraging transparency and accountability in the review process. Review reports are published alongside the article, providing readers with insights into the peer review process and the reviewer’s evaluation. Direct interaction between authors and reviewers is allowed, facilitating constructive dialogue to improve manuscript quality. Reviewers may choose to sign their reviews and receive public acknowledgment for their contributions. Emphasis is placed on adherence to ethical guidelines, ensuring that the review process is conducted fairly, respectfully, and without bias. Editorial decisions and the rationale for such decisions are shared openly with authors, increasing credibility and trust in the publication process.

Review Process Stages:

1. Submission and Technical Check:
Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes a technical check to ensure that it meets the journal’s formatting and ethical guidelines.

2. Initial Editorial Review:
The editorial team conducts an initial review to assess the suitability of the manuscript and its alignment with the journal’s scope.

3. Assignment to Editor:
If deemed appropriate, the manuscript is assigned to an Editor who oversees the peer review process.

4. Reviewer Selection:
The Editor selects and contacts reviewers who are experts in the relevant field to evaluate the manuscript.

5. Review Process:
Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommendations regarding the quality, validity, and contribution of the manuscript to the scientific field.

6. Author Revisions:
Based on reviewer feedback, authors may be asked to revise the manuscript. This stage may involve several rounds of revisions and re-evaluations.

7. Final Decision:
The Editor makes the final decision based on reviewer recommendations and author revisions. Possible outcomes include:

  1. Accepted as is: The journal will publish the article in its original form.
  2. Accepted with Minor Revisions: The journal will publish the article and request the author to make minor corrections within a specified timeframe.
  3. Accepted with Major Revisions: The journal will publish the article provided the author makes the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editor within a specified timeframe.
  4. Resubmission Required (conditional rejection): The journal will reconsider the article after the author makes significant changes for the next decision round.
  5. Rejected (outright rejection): The journal will not publish the article or reconsider it, even if major revisions are made.

8. Publication:
Accepted manuscripts proceed to the publication stage, where the article is edited, formatted, and published in the journal.
